"I thought it was going to be a long shot"
먼거리에 있는목표물을 쏜다면, 명중률은 slam-dunk에 비하면 형편없이 떨어진다. 비즈니스 세계에서 Long shot은 사업계획 혹은 전략의 목표 달성이 희박한 상황에서 비유적으로 쓰는 표현이다. 유사한 표현으로 a shot in the dark.
- It will be a long shot if we have to start the project from scratch.
- Turning our idea into a commercial product was a long shot, but with a 110% effort we started to see the light at the end of the tunnel * 110% effort : 최대의 노력을 쏟아부을 때 강조하는 표현.
